Dear SATAI Members,
On behalf of the entire SATAI Board I would like to thank Toby
Gloekler, Lee DeChant and Dick Parkans for their contribution to a
successful conference in Laughlin, Nevada. By all accounts the
“Aquarius” was a much better location than our previous site. The
information from the presentations are now available on the SATAI
Web Site soon for you to download. Please remember that this
material is for the benefit of SATAI members only and should not
be distributed without the permission of the speaker.
The Board is seeing a rise in the cost of our conferences. Not only
is there an increase in hotel rooms, but additional fees are being
charged for the conference set-up. The Board has looked at
several options and decided the best solution is to raise our
annual dues. Dues will now be $90.00 beginning with July 2008.
It should be noted that SATAI has not raised its dues in over 10
years and yet we still keep our conferences free. We dare you to
find a better bargin in this field.
The July conference will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in
Westgate. Westgate is the new mall/sports complex located at
Glendale Avenue and the Loop 101. Westgate offers a variety of
amenities and activities to go along with the conference. Cabelas
Outdoor World is just across the street! The conference agenda
will include a crash and this year Rusty Haight will be running the
crash with a data presentation on Saturday.
The week prior to the conference Rusty will be hosting a CDR
course at the Glendale PD training center just a few miles from
Westgate. Click here for details. Any member attending the CDR
class and wanting to stay at the Renaissance with SATAI rates
please contact me at 602-495-5858.
Looking ahead to to San Diego 2008 we have booked the duo of
John Daily and Nate Shigumora. As always, if any member has a
topic or speaker they know would benefit the organization please
contact a Board Member.
See you in Glendale,
John (Read my lips, I will not raise your dues! OOPS) Heimann
